The Vulnerable Media Lab was very pleased to host the first in a series of workshops/seminars on the theme of knowledge architecture and metadata.
Led by Stacy Allison-Cassin, Associate Librarian, York University Libraries, this inaugural two-part Workshop on Indigenous Knowledge Architecture and Metadata took place on Zoom on June 25 and 26 from 10:30AM-12PM EST each day.
Short description: This workshop covers basic theoretical and practical aspects related to working with materials connected to Indigenous communities, including ethics in metadata work, challenges with mainstream subject vocabularies, and Traditional Knowledge Labels.
